David'sBiography

David Curtis-Gottfried is a graduate of St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Theater Studies and Vocal Performance. David is an actor, singer, and composer, hoping to utilize all of his interests in his career.

David has performed in many main-stage productions at St. Olaf College, as well as appearing in productions through Deep End, the student-run theater organization on campus. He has also directed several productions for Deep End. In addition to his career at St. Olaf, David has appeared in multiple shows through the Eat Street Players, a theater company based in Minneapolis, as well as making an appearance in the "Must-See" show of the 2009 Minnesota Fringe Festival, The Red Tureen.

At St. Olaf, David was a leader in the choral program, holding officer positions and the Tenor Section Leader position for two years in the St. Olaf Chapel Choir, in which he performed great works such as the Mozart Requiem and Britten's War Requiem. He is a graduate of the prestigious Great Conversations program, in which he studied and critiqued the philosophies and history of Western Civilization. At the end of the six-term program, David wrote a defense of secular ethics called Grounding Secularism. As his Capstone project for his Bachelor of Music Degree, David wrote, composed, and performed in a short musical called Serving!, which was based on his work experiences in the restaurant industry.

In addition to honing his craft, David's side projects include continuing to edit his musical Serving!, adapting John Milton's Paradise Lost into a progressive metal musical, writing his currently unnamed novel, and planning for his wedding in the summer of 2016.
